The Problem: Different Weather Data Between Apps and Doubts About Accuracy
Many users report that the weather forecast in the Weather24 app differs from other weather services or that predicted events (such as rain) do not occur. This leads to confusion and questions about the reliability of our data.
Why do the forecasts differ?
Different weather services use different weather models and data sources. This is completely normal in meteorology. Our forecasts are based on scientifically sound models and the data available at the respective time. Small deviations between services are therefore inevitable.
Why doesn't predicted rain occur?
In particular, local showers and short-term weather developments can develop differently than originally forecast. Meteorology is not an exact science – especially for forecasts over several days. The closer the event to be forecast, the more accurate the forecasts become.
How reliable are our forecasts?
Our forecasts are scientifically sound and based on current data. However, please note:
• Short-term forecasts (1-2 days): very reliable
• Medium-term forecasts (3-7 days): good, but with higher uncertainty
• Long-term forecasts (over 7 days): lower accuracy
This is completely normal and applies to all weather services worldwide.
What can you do?
Use the hourly forecast for more precise information. Check updated forecasts regularly, as these improve with new data. For critical activities, you should check the forecast closer to your planned time.
