What do the temperature readings in the forecast mean?

The weather forecast displays the expected high and low temperature for each day. Below these you will find the corresponding apparent temperature values.

High and low temperature

The top line shows, for example:

35 °C / 19 °C

This means:

• The first value is the expected high temperature for the day.
• The second value is the expected low temperature, which is usually reached at night or in the early morning.

Apparent temperature

Below the actual temperature values, for example:

feels like 35 °C / 20 °C

Here too, the first value indicates the highest and the second value the lowest apparent temperature of the day.

The apparent temperature describes how warm or cold the weather is likely to feel to a person. It can differ from the measured or forecast air temperature.

Temperature perception is influenced by, among other things:

• Air temperature,
• Wind speed,
• Humidity and
• Solar radiation or thermal radiation.

The apparent temperature is a calculated reference value. Personal perception may vary depending on activity, clothing, location and individual sensitivity.
