Check mobile data usage
On both Android and iOS, you can check in your device settings how much mobile data the Weather24 app has used.
Restrict mobile data on Android
In Android settings, you can manage data usage for individual apps. Depending on your device, you'll find options for:
- mobile data usage,
- background data, and
- usage when data saver mode is enabled.
Search in settings for "data usage" or open the app information for the Weather24 app.
Disable mobile data on iOS
On iOS, you can turn off mobile data usage for individual apps:
- Open your device settings.
- Tap "Mobile" or "Mobile Data".
- Search the list for Weather24.
- Disable mobile data usage for the app.
The Weather24 app will then only load new data when your device is connected to WiFi.
Use data-intensive content preferably over WiFi
Access the following content preferably over a WiFi connection:
- weather videos,
- animated weather maps,
- radar and precipitation animations, and
- other image or video-rich content.
Use data saver mode
Android and iOS offer system-wide features to reduce data consumption. Depending on the operating system, these are called "data saver mode" or "data saver mode for mobile data", for example.
Please note that this may cause content to be updated later or only when you open the app.
Important
Restricting data may cause weather data, widgets or other content to no longer be updated automatically or as frequently. Open the app regularly when you have a WiFi connection to load new data.
